Kyle Loftus Named President of Independent Artist Group in Major Industry Move

Kyle Loftus has officially been named President of Independent Artist Group (IAG), marking a significant leadership shift within the agency. This announcement comes after Loftus’s remarkable 16-year journey with the company, which began with an internship at its former incarnation, APA. His rise to the presidency is not just a personal achievement — it represents a rare and inspiring success story in Hollywood’s agency world.

At just 30-something, Loftus becomes one of the youngest presidents in a field where career advancement is notoriously difficult. He will also join the IAG Board of Directors, further solidifying his influence within the organization.

A Visionary Leader Driving Creative Integration

In a statement, IAG CEO Jim Osborne, a long-time mentor and partner of Loftus, praised him for building an innovative infrastructure that connects talent, music, intellectual property (IP), and literary content across all divisions. According to Osborne, “Kyle is the finest agent I’ve ever worked with… His exceptional ability to align opportunities across entertainment verticals is now a cornerstone of the IAG brand.”

Loftus was most recently serving as Executive Vice President, Head of Content Development, where he oversaw multiple departments including Motion Picture and TV Lit, Alternative TV, Media Rights, and Publishing. As President, he will expand this oversight to the agency’s entire operation and future initiatives.

Elevating Global Talent and Expanding Brand Power

Known for his calm demeanor, strong negotiation skills, and relentless work ethic, Loftus’s reputation is bolstered by his close collaborations with major crossover stars such as:

  • Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson – Expanded his brand through G-Unit Film & Television, with hits like Power, BMF, For Life, and the upcoming Fightland. Jackson also launched a FAST channel with Lionsgate and grossed over $100M in 2023 with his Final Lap Tour.

  • Mary J. Blige – A client who has achieved multi-platform success, from her Oscar-nominated role in Mudbound to her production company Blue Butterfly, and a global streaming concert event via Veeps.

Loftus was also instrumental in merging APA with AGI in 2023 to create IAG, helping transition major clients and proving the full potential of the merger.

Supporting Star-Driven Production Companies

Loftus has helped build and expand production companies for some of the industry’s biggest names, including:

Champion of Writers and Creators

Though now leading the agency, Loftus continues to represent a diverse and dynamic roster of writer/showrunners, including:

  • Adam Higgs (FUBAR)

  • Leann Bowen (Ted Lasso)

  • Kenny Smith (Kenan)

  • Dara Resnik (Home Before Dark)

  • Felicia Henderson (First Kill)
