Disney Dominates U.S. Box Office with $1.1 Billion Year-to-Date
As we approach the halfway mark of 2025, the domestic box office has reached $3.7 billion (+23% compared to 2024) for the January 1 to June 15 period, with Disney Studios leading the pack at $1.1 billion.
Successful Releases Bolster Disney’s Earnings
This achievement is unsurprising, given Disney’s lineup of blockbuster films, including Lilo & Stitch ($371.7M) and Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World ($200.5M). Even films that underperformed, such as Marvel’s Thunderbolts ($188.9M) and Snow White ($87.2M), have contributed to a strong cushion for the studio.
Warner Bros. on Track for $1 Billion
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has garnered $906.9M from eight titles. With upcoming releases like F1, James Gunn’s Superman, and Weapons set to debut in the next month and a half, the studio is poised to surpass $1 billion at the domestic box office before Labor Day. Despite concerns about the future of the motion picture industry, Warner Bros. remains stable, with the highest-grossing film in both the domestic and global markets, A Minecraft Movie ($423.8M U.S./Canada; $953.5M WW).
