Season 3 of The Gilded Age has arrived, packed with new faces and fresh challenges for the beloved ensemble in this historical drama.

Premiere Date

The third season of The Gilded Age premiered on Sunday, June 22, on HBO and HBO Max.

Episode Count

Season 3 will consist of eight episodes.

Weekly Episode Release Schedule

Recap of Season 2

In Season 2, Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) triumphed in a battle of opera houses, winning over a significant portion of the old money elite to the Metropolitan Opera. Marian (Louisa Jacobson) faced a second marriage proposal from Dashiel Montgomery (David Furr), whom she ultimately rejected. Peggy Scott (Denée Benton) advanced in her journalism career but got involved in a forbidden romance with T. Thomas Fortune (Sullivan Jones), the head editor of The Globe. Ada Brook (Cynthia Nixon) fell in love with Reverend Luke Forte (Robert Sean Leonard), but tragedy struck when he was diagnosed with cancer. Oscar van Rhijn (Blake Ritson) lost his mother’s money to Maude Beaton (Nicole Brydon Bloom), leading to a role reversal with Ada after she inherited money from her late husband. Meanwhile, Marian found hope as Larry Russell (Harry Richardson) kissed her at the end of Season 2.

Returning Cast

The cast includes Coon, Baranski, Nixon, Jacobson, Benton, Ahlers, Richardson, and Ritson. Morgan Spector returns as George Russell, and Taissa Farmiga as Gladys Russell. The downstairs staff from both the Russell and van Rhijn/Forte households will also reprise their roles.

New faces this season include Phylicia Rashad as Mrs. Elizabeth Kirkland, Brian Stokes Mitchell as Frederick Kirkland, and many more.
