Apple Corps Ltd. Appoints Tom Greene as CEO
Apple Corps Ltd., the company managing the creative and business interests of The Beatles, has appointed Tom Greene as CEO, effective September 25.
Greene’s Background and Vision
Greene is only the third CEO in the history of the iconic company, which was established in 1968. He will oversee The Beatles’ intellectual property, including their music catalog, film rights, and publishing projects. Currently, Apple Corps is collaborating on an ambitious project with Sony Pictures Entertainment and filmmaker Sam Mendes—four theatrical films, each focusing on a member of the band. This marks the first time that full life story and music rights have been granted for a scripted film by Apple Corps and The Beatles, including Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison.
Previous Experience
Before this role, Greene led Pottermore Publishing and Wizarding World Digital, a joint venture between Warner Bros and Pottermore, growing the Harry Potter Fan Club to over 50 million members. He is currently the COO of Blast, which collaborates with major video game developers to enhance their esports initiatives worldwide. Greene will continue to serve on the boards of both Pottermore and Blast.
Leadership Transition
Greene succeeds Jeff Jones, who announced his departure from Apple Corps after 17 years.
In a joint statement, McCartney, Starr, Olivia Harrison, and Sean Ono Lennon expressed their excitement: “We are thrilled to welcome Tom Greene as CEO. We have a lot of exciting plans, and Tom’s experience and vision make him the perfect person to help us realize them.”

Greene’s Enthusiasm
Greene stated, “It is a huge honor to lead Apple Corps into this new phase. Like many around the world, I grew up in a household obsessed with The Beatles. In a time when the world needs their spirit, there are innovative ways to share their magic with fans of all generations. I can’t wait to get started.”
Current Projects and Achievements
Apple Corps continues to innovate with music initiatives, including special edition releases of classic albums such as Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles (‘White Album’), Abbey Road, Let It Be, and Revolver. The Beatles’ latest single, “Now And Then,” reached number one in the UK charts and earned the band a Grammy win and a BRIT Award nomination.
In film, Peter Jackson’s 2021 documentary Get Back revolutionized music storytelling, winning five Emmy awards. Last year, Apple Corps and Disney+ released Beatles ’64, a documentary by David Tedeschi and Martin Scorsese, along with a restored version of Let It Be.
Upcoming Cinematic Event
The four-film Beatles cinematic event is scheduled for release in April 2028, produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Mendes’ Neal Street Productions. At CinemaCon, Sony’s Tom Rothman and Mendes described the biopic series as “the first bingeable moment in cinema.”
Written by Jez Butterworth, Jack Thorne, and Peter Straughan, the films will feature Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
