England Women’s Soccer Manager Joins RTS Cambridge Lineup

  • Sarina Wiegman, England women’s soccer manager and winner of two major trophies with the Lionesses, will appear at the RTS Cambridge Convention (Sept 17–18).

  • She’ll be in conversation with Alison Lomax, YouTube’s UK boss.

  • Other final speakers include:

    • David Tennant (Good Omens) in discussion with Charlotte Moore, the former BBC content chief (now at Sony).

    • UK Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy

    • Banijay boss Marco Bassetti

    • All3Media CEO Jane Turton

    • Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland

  • The event is chaired by BBC DG Tim Davie. Already announced: FX chair John Landgraf, Candle Media’s Kevin Mayer, and RedBird IMI CEO Jeff Zucker.

Norway’s TV2 Remakes The Great School Swap

  • TV2 is adapting Channel 4’s format as Skolebytte (School Switch).

  • Concept: 24 ninth graders from culturally different Oslo schools swap environments for two weeks to explore integration.

  • Hosted by Janne Amble and Kadafi Zaman.

  • Produced by Teddy TV.

  • TV2’s Trygve Rønningen hopes it will break down prejudices and encourage community.

  • Premieres August 28 on TV2 Play and TV2 Direkte.

  • The Channel 4 version was Grierson and RTS Awards nominated.


BritBox Acquires The Hardacres

  • BritBox North America has picked up the Banijay Rights drama.

  • Produced by Playground (Wolf Hall) with Screen Ireland and Red Berry Productions.

  • Story: working-class Hardacre family rise from fish docks to wealth in 1890s Yorkshire.

  • Cast includes Claire Cooper, Liam McMahon, Julie Graham, Adam Little, Shannon Lavelle, Zak Ford-Williams.

  • Originally aired on Channel 5 (UK) in Oct 2023; renewed for Season 2 in July 2025.

  • Based on C.L. Skelton’s novel.
