Andy Serkis and T’Nia Miller to Voice Lead Roles in Animated Special A Lamb’s Stew

British actor Andy Serkis and actress T’Nia Miller are leading the voice cast for A Lamb’s Stew, a new animated special directed by Joeri Christiaen. This 26-minute family-oriented film tells the inspiring tale of Billie, a young lamb with a bold mission: to prove that sheep can be just as brave as any predator.
In an attempt to challenge the stereotype, Billie sets a clever trap for a fearsome wolf. But the plan takes an unexpected turn when Billie begins to question everything she thought she knew about wolves.
The English-language special features the voices of Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes), Miller (Sex Education, Years and Years), and rising talent Iris Onyejiuwa. Produced by Christiaen’s La Cabane and Belgian animation studio Thuristar, the project is being sold internationally by UK-based distributor Cake. This trio of collaborators has a history of producing standout animated content.
A Lamb’s Stew blends 3D animation with artistic 2D sequences. It was produced using the open-source software Blender and received support from Canal+ (France), RTS (Switzerland), VRT-Ketnet (Belgium), and ZDF (Germany), along with funding from the Creative Europe Programme, France’s CNC, the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), and Procirep-Angoa.
The story was written and directed by Joeri Christiaen (Mush-Mush and the Mushables, My Knight and Me), with Claire Paoletti (Shoom’s Odyssey) contributing as story consultant during the early stages, and Julia Smuts Louw (Star Wars: Visions – Aau’s Song) serving as the final script’s story editor.
This marks the third collaboration between Cake, La Cabane, and Thuristar following the success of Mush-Mush and the Mushables, which received an International Emmy nomination and ran for two seasons, and the upcoming title Luce in the Lovely Land.
“A Lamb’s Stew is an ambitious project, and we’re confident that Cake’s expertise will help bring this heartfelt story and distinctive visual style to audiences around the globe,” said Perrine Gauthier, co-founder of La Cabane and partner at Thuristar.

La Cabane, founded in Paris in 2015 by Gauthier, Christiaen, Frederik Segers, and Emmanuel Garijo, has developed titles such as Mush-Mush, Luce and the Rock, and is currently working on Emma Makes Waves alongside A Lamb’s Stew.
Thuristar, known for the short film 850 Meters and the globally aired series My Knight and Me, is also co-producing the 26-episode series Goat Girl and is actively involved in the development of Luce in the Lovely Land.
Cake, which boasts a library of over 3,200 hours of content, is distributing notable titles like Talking Tom and Friends, Clangers, and Dennis and Gnasher Unleashed. Its production division has contributed to animated hits such as Angry Birds: Summer Madness on Netflix and Mama K’s Team 4 with Triggerfish Animation.
