The global box office continues to thrive with Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and Paramount/Skydance’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning holding strong in their second weekends. Both films posted minimal drops, reflecting strong word-of-mouth and consistent audience turnout across international markets.

Lilo & Stitch: A Box Office Powerhouse

The live-action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch added a remarkable $113.1 million from 52 international markets over the weekend, pushing its international total to $330.7 million. The worldwide cumulative gross now stands at $610.8 million. Impressively, the film recorded only a 28% drop in overseas revenue, demonstrating its staying power.

This release has quickly become the second highest-grossing studio film of the year internationally, and the top non-local release across nearly all of Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific territories including Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand.

Notable box office holds include:

  • Germany (-12%)

  • UK (-28%)

  • Brazil (-34%)

  • Mexico (-40%)

  • Italy (-46%)

Some countries even saw growth, such as:

  • Netherlands (+21%)

  • Belgium (+13%)

  • Saudi Arabia (+8%)

The Hong Kong debut also impressed, opening at No. 1 with $1.1 million, outperforming The Minecraft Movie by 4%.

Lilo & Stitch is now the highest-grossing film of 2025 in Mexico, Italy, Brazil, and Thailand, with top-grossing markets including:

  • Mexico – $45.9M

  • UK – $34.5M

  • France – $23.1M

  • Brazil – $21.6M

  • Germany – $18.1M

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning: A Solid Second Frame

Mission: Impossible 8 maintained strong momentum with $76.1 million in its second international weekend, a modest 33% drop. Its total international earnings have reached $231.2 million, bringing the global total to $353.8 million.

The film debuted in China, marking a significant win. It became the highest-grossing imported film in a single day this year and the fastest to hit RMB 100M in 2025. China’s weekend total was $25.2 million, with record-breaking social media scores.

Top performing markets for Mission: Impossible 8 include:

  • UK – $22.3M

  • Japan – $18.5M

  • South Korea – $17M

  • France – $14.2M

  • India – $11.3M

Karate Kid: Legends and Final Destination Bloodlines Also Perform Well

Sony’s Karate Kid: Legends brought in $12 million this weekend from 43 international markets, with a total global gross of $47 million. Key upcoming markets include Australia, Italy, China, France, and Japan.

Meanwhile, Final Destination: Bloodlines from Warner Bros added $14.4 million, dropping just 37% from last week. Its international total now stands at $117.6 million, with a global cume of $229.3 million. It has become the highest-grossing horror film ever in Pakistan.
