Disney+ Dominates Preschool Entertainment with Bluey, Spidey, and CoComelon Acquisition

Disney+ continues to cement its leadership in preschool entertainment by securing exclusive streaming rights to CoComelon, a major win that further strengthens its already dominant position in children’s programming. This move enhances a lineup already bolstered by hits like Bluey, Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and SuperKitties.
Since acquiring U.S. distribution rights in 2019, Bluey has become a phenomenon. In 2024, it was the most-streamed title across all genres in the U.S., consistently ranking in Nielsen’s Top 5 weekly. As of this year, Bluey has accumulated a staggering 70 billion minutes viewed, equal to about 133,000 years of total watch time.
Yet Bluey is not alone. Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse have joined it as the Top 3 preschool streaming shows in the U.S. in 2024, both in terms of popularity and total viewing hours on Disney+. According to Disney, these shows are also the platform’s most-watched preschool titles of all time.
Disney Jr.: A Trusted Brand for Family-Friendly Content
“From Bluey to Spidey and his Amazing Friends, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, SuperKitties and beyond, our Disney Jr. content delivers trusted, joyful stories with characters that stay with audiences for a lifetime,” said Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television. This sentiment underscores Disney+ as the go-to streaming platform for families with young children.
The Disney Jr. YouTube channel, with over 23 million subscribers, ranks among the top 0.001% of all YouTube channels. Its extensive library of preschool content performs exceptionally well both on YouTube and Disney+.
According to Nielsen, four of the top 10 most-watched preschool series in 2024 belong to Disney Jr., making it the No. 1 cable network for Kids aged 2-5 for the third consecutive year.
Revival and Expansion of Preschool Favorites
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, originally airing from 2006 to 2016, has amassed over 5 billion views on YouTube and 12 billion hours watched across streaming and linear platforms. Its massive popularity has led Disney to revive the series, launching a new version in summer 2025. This new iteration includes an expanded clubhouse area for Minnie Mouse and surprise appearances from Duffy the Disney Bear.
Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends has also proven to be a multiplatform success. Since its premiere in August 2021, the show has garnered 2.3 billion views on YouTube and 896 million hours watched on Disney+. It ranks as the No. 2 streaming series among boys aged 2 to 5, with strong merchandise sales further extending its brand reach.
SuperKitties, another rising star, debuted in 2023 as the No. 1 new preschool series across all platforms. It maintained strong performance into 2024 and is now airing its second season, with Season 3 expected later this year.
What CoComelon Brings to Disney+
CoComelon, previously a Netflix favorite, will debut on Disney+ in 2027. Its arrival will coincide with the release of the CoComelon movie by Universal. Given its independent production roots and massive global popularity, CoComelon is seen as a perfect fit for Disney Jr.’s trusted and diverse preschool portfolio. Much like Bluey, Disney is expected to expand the CoComelon brand into new attractions and extensions.
