2025 Conecta Fiction & Entertainment Pitching Winners: Innovative Dramedies, Thrillers, and Unique Formats from Spain and Beyond

The 2025 Conecta Fiction & Entertainment pitching sessions in Cuenca, Spain celebrated a diverse range of fresh TV and film projects, highlighting innovative storytelling across genres from comedy and dramedy to thrillers and docu-dramas.

Among the winners were compelling stories such as a comedy about a man faking Tourette Syndrome and a disabled man from a rough neighborhood who becomes a nanny for wealthy kids in Marbella. Also taking home accolades was “Seahorse,” a poignant dramedy about a trans boy facing an unexpected pregnancy, and the thrilling new dance competition format, “Dancing Till the Stars,” where celebrities must dance while floating mid-air.

Other notable winners included “Noise,” a coming-of-age dramedy set against Madrid’s pre-reggaeton underground scene, and “Mar’s Flight,” a powerful docu-drama about healing from childhood abuse.

The event also honored Password, a social dramedy weaving together six stories centered around the dilemmas posed by digital passwords, reflecting the evolving challenges of technology and human relationships.

Additionally, gripping international co-productions like “Smuggled,” a tense crime thriller about a young migrant caught in a police investigation, and “Bishop,” an action-packed series inspired by true events in Portugal, made a strong impression.

The pitching session’s honorary award was presented to Spanish TV producer José Manuel Lorenzo, known for acclaimed works like The Gardener and The Hunt.
