Irish Blood Renewed for Season 2: Alicia Silverstone’s Hit Murder Mystery Returns

You’d have to be clueless to end Alicia Silverstone’s Irish Blood after just one season. The murder mystery series, hailed as Acorn TV’s most successful show in its history, has officially been renewed for a second season.

Record-Breaking Success

According to Acorn TV, Irish Blood achieved the most-watched premiere and full season in the platform’s history, including three weeks of delayed viewing. The premiere episode also drove the biggest subscriber sign-up day in nearly two years. Season one currently holds a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, albeit from a small pool of reviews, solidifying its critical and audience success.

Season 2 Details

The new season will once again be set and produced in Ireland, consisting of six hour-long episodes. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2026.

Silverstone expressed her excitement:

“It means so much to continue this journey with a character I love. Thank you to everyone who’s watched and supported, and to the phenomenal Irish crew and actors who made working there such a joy.”

Rob Fox, AMC Networks’ EVP of Production, praised Silverstone’s contributions both as a star and executive producer, calling the show a “remarkable first season” and highlighting Acorn TV’s reputation as a go-to platform for thrilling crime dramas and mysteries.

The Story So Far

Irish Blood Season 1 follows Fiona Fox (Alicia Silverstone), whose life has been overshadowed by the belief that her father abandoned her on her 10th birthday. Years later, a message from him sends her to Ireland, where she uncovers shocking truths: her father didn’t abandon her but stayed away to protect her and her mother from his criminal dealings. Fiona must face her hidden family and uncover the full truth about her past.
