Emmys 2025 Predictions: 10 Bubble Contenders Who Could Surprise or Get Snubbed

With just one day left before the 2025 Emmy nominations are revealed, speculation is at a fever pitch for the final contenders across key categories. While top shows like Hacks, Severance, Adolescence, and The Traitors are expected to secure nominations, several on-the-bubble entries may face last-minute surprises — or devastating snubs.

Here are 10 nominees across comedy, drama, movie, and reality categories that could either sneak in or miss out entirely:

1. What We Do in the Shadows – Best Comedy Series

FX’s vampire comedy, which cracked the top nominations last year, faces stiff competition in its sixth and final season. With only a 62% predicted chance, it’s being challenged by Netflix’s freshman hit The Four Seasons, which may stake its claim on the eighth spot.

2. Selena Gomez – Best Comedy Actress

After being snubbed for the first two seasons of Only Murders in the Building, Gomez broke through last year. However, she’s currently trailing Poker Face’s Natasha Lyonne, with a narrow 16% margin separating them. Gomez’s Emmy fate could swing either way.

3. Steve Martin – Best Comedy Actor

Martin, also from Only Murders, has been nominated twice before but missed out in Season 2. With Jason Segel (Shrinking) holding a 30% lead for the fifth spot, Martin’s popularity in the industry may be his only remaining edge.

4. Megan Stalter – Best Comedy Supporting Actress

Stalter’s breakout role in Hacks has been generating buzz. Despite no past nominations, her growing visibility and rising odds might push her ahead of The Studio’s Kathryn Hahn for one of the seven available slots.

5. Colman Domingo – Best Comedy Supporting Actor

In Netflix’s The Four Seasons, Domingo delivers a standout performance. He’s sitting just behind SNL’s Bowen Yang, and momentum from his Best Actor campaign in Sing Sing could tip the balance in his favor.

6. Paradise – Best Drama Series

Though Paradise debuted to acclaim on Hulu, its Emmy buzz has cooled, largely due to a resurgence from Squid Game Season 2. Expert predictors still place Paradise ahead, but it’s one of the most vulnerable dramas heading into announcement day.

7. Choi Seung-hyun – Best Drama Supporting Actor

Known for his role in Squid Game as the chilling “Thanos,” Choi is edging out White Lotus actor Patrick Schwarzenegger for the seventh spot. If Emmy voters align with fan predictions, this could be one of the biggest surprises in the category.

8. Beau Bridges – Best Drama Guest Actor

A tight 3% gap separates TV veteran Beau Bridges (Matlock) from Andor’s Ben Mendelsohn. With Bridges returning in Season 2 of Matlock, voters might reward his legacy and longevity with a surprise nomination.

9. The Gorge – Best Television Movie

Although its early surge cooled, Apple TV+’s The Gorge, starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, still has a shot at sneaking into the category — especially if Am I Okay? continues its decline.

10. Kristen Kish – Best Reality Host

After taking over Top Chef from Padma Lakshmi, Kristen Kish earned a nod last year. Despite predictions favoring the Queer Eye cast, Top Chef’s enduring Emmy appeal could secure her a return to the list.

With the 2025 Emmy nominations just hours away, these bubble contenders are riding a fine line between recognition and rejection. Whether they rise or fall will soon be revealed.
