Everything We Know About Dune: Part Three — Cast, Plot, Release & More

Following the blockbuster success of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune and Dune: Part Two, anticipation is building for Dune: Part Three, which will adapt Frank Herbert’s second novel, Dune Messiah. After impressive worldwide box office totals of $410.7 million and $714.7 million for the first two films respectively, Villeneuve is now moving forward with the next chapter in the saga.
Dune: Part Two ended with Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) overthrowing Emperor Shaddam IV and taking Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh) as his consort. However, unrest among the great houses and the estrangement of Paul’s Fremen lover, Chani (Zendaya), set the stage for further conflict.
Set 12 years later, Dune: Part Three explores Paul’s reign as emperor, his transformation into a religious icon, and the increasing threats to his power. The film promises to delve into political intrigue, rebellion, and the ongoing battle for control of the universe.
Returning cast members include Chalamet, Zendaya, and Pugh. Jason Momoa is confirmed to reprise his role as Duncan Idaho, whose return follows the novel’s storyline. Anya Taylor-Joy is also expected to return as Alia, Paul’s sister.
New casting rumors suggest Robert Pattinson may join as Scytale, a manipulative antagonist intent on undermining Paul’s empire.
