Lady Gaga’s Brief Cameo in Wednesday Season 2 Leaves Fans Wanting More

After months of hype, Lady Gaga’s guest appearance in Wednesday Season 2 turned out to be more of a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo. The superstar appeared in Episode 6, titled “Woe Thyself,” which premiered on September 3, 2025 on Netflix.

Gaga plays Rosaline Rotwood, a ghostly psychic teacher from the 1960s at Nevermore Academy. Dressed in a light blue-and-white period costume, Rosaline meets Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) in an attempt to boost Wednesday’s psychic powers so she can track down Tyler Galpin, the escaped Hyde. Their séance is interrupted by Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), prompting Rosaline to mischievously switch Wednesday and Enid’s bodies as punishment.

Despite the hype, Gaga’s screen time added up to just 1 minute and 46 seconds — roughly 3 percent of the episode’s 69-minute runtime. Under Emmy rules, this disqualifies her from being considered for Best Comedy Guest Actress, which requires a minimum of 5 percent screen time in a submitted episode.

Fans quickly took to social media to express disappointment:

The cameo was filmed in Ireland in just one day, underscoring its limited nature. Gaga does reappear briefly later in the episode, but not enough to satisfy fans who expected a larger role.

While Gaga won’t be making Emmy headlines for her acting here, she still has a chance at awards recognition. Her new track “The Dead Dance” — produced with Tim Burton and featured in Episode 7 — could be a contender at the 2026 Emmys for Best Music & Lyrics. However, the track missed the 2026 Grammy eligibility window by just four days.

This won’t dent Gaga’s award momentum: she recently won a Sports Emmy for Hold My Hand at the 2025 Super Bowl and already holds an Oscar and multiple Grammys. With just a Tony missing, she remains close to achieving EGOT status.

For now, fans can watch both seasons of Wednesday on Netflix, but those expecting Gaga to dominate Season 2 may have to settle for her musical magic rather than extended screen presence.
