Netflix June 2025 Releases: Alfred Hitchcock Collection, Music Documentaries, and Suspense Classics

June is a relatively light month for Netflix, possibly to avoid overshadowing the final season of Squid Game or due to more people being active outdoors as summer begins. Despite that, several notable releases are set to drop, including two distinct music documentaries and a curated collection of films from suspense master Alfred Hitchcock.
June 1st Highlights
Alfred Hitchcock Collection
Netflix surprises fans by adding a collection of late-career films from Alfred Hitchcock, countering its usual scarcity of pre-2000 films. This set includes classics such as Rear Window, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Vertigo, The Birds, Frenzy, and Family Plot. Also featured is the Anthony Hopkins biopic about Hitchcock, offering a deep dive into the filmmaker’s life.
The American
Directed by Anton Corbijn, this 2010 drama starring George Clooney offers a character-driven story rather than a conventional thriller. Clooney delivers one of his finest performances in this understated but compelling film.
Barbarian
This horror film stands out for its unpredictability, taking viewers on a twisted journey that defies expectations and genre conventions.
The Blues Brothers
A Chicago-set musical comedy classic, described as a “raucous powerhouse” combining loud, raw energy with humor and memorable performances.
Dune
David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation of Dune remains a unique, if divisive, cult classic that offers an intriguing glimpse into Lynch’s visionary style.
The Town
Ben Affleck’s acclaimed thriller featuring Jeremy Renner’s Oscar-nominated performance continues to resonate as a tightly paced cops-and-robbers story.
Us
Jordan Peele’s follow-up to Get Out features Lupita Nyong’o in a dual role, delivering one of the decade’s best horror performances in a sharp, suspenseful narrative.
June 7th Highlights
Becoming Led Zeppelin
The first band-approved biographical documentary about Led Zeppelin, which was a box office hit and now arrives on Netflix. It’s a must-watch for fans of the legendary rock group.
Piece by Piece
Directed by Morgan Neville, this innovative documentary uses LEGO animation to explore the creative life of Pharrell Williams, offering a visually captivating biography.
