Willy Falcon’s Cocaine Empire Story Secures Seven-Figure Hollywood Deal

Cuban-American drug lord Willy Falcon is stepping out of the shadows and into the spotlight. Entertainment A.R.E.U.—founded by former Tyler Perry Studios president Ozzie Areu—has officially acquired exclusive life rights to Falcon’s story, alongside rights to T.J. English’s gripping book The Last Kilo: Willy Falcon and the Cocaine Empire That Seduced America.

This seven-figure deal marks the beginning of an ambitious multimedia franchise, including a feature film, TV series, docuseries, and true-crime podcast—all built around Falcon’s billion-dollar cocaine operation, Los Muchachos.

A Cocaine Kingpin’s Rise from Exile to Empire

Falcon, along with his brother Gustavo Falcon and partner Sal Magluta, rose from being high school dropouts to pioneering the cocaine smuggling routes that reshaped America’s war on drugs. Their empire is credited with helping build the Miami skyline, all while racing powerboats and laundering billions through Panama’s elite banking networks.

These were no ordinary traffickers. According to English’s book, Falcon’s network:

  • Collaborated with the CIA during the Iran-Contra Affair to help fund covert operations

  • Forged secret alliances with Fidel Castro’s enemies, Manuel Noriega, and Pablo Escobar

  • Was first to cut deals directly with the Medellín cartel

  • Pioneered cocaine routes through Mexico by working with Félix Gallardo and the Guadalajara Cartel

  • Created a system to launder money via Noriega’s personal lawyer, who later became Panama’s president

This was more than a drug ring—it was a geopolitical chessboard.

 Multiple Projects in the Works

Ozzie Areu announced that the storytelling will span multiple platforms:

“This is the unfiltered truth,” says Areu. “We’re working with top-tier writers to capture it all—from secret CIA deals to the brutal realities of the drug trade.”

Willy Falcon Breaks His Silence

After 27 years in prison, Falcon is finally ready to tell the full story. “Nothing is off-limits,” he says. “I’ve waited decades for this moment.”

This story goes beyond rumors and headlines. It’s a blend of crime saga, immigrant ambition, and fallen empire—the real-life Scarface meets Narcos, but with a geopolitical twist.

T.J. English, who authored The Last Kilo, adds:

“This tale isn’t just about drugs. It’s about how an illegal product transformed a country.”

What’s Next?

Production timelines and casting are still under wraps, but with A.R.E.U. spearheading the project and Falcon’s full cooperation, this franchise is set to redefine the true-crime genre.
