Television Academy Announces Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Featuring Viola Davis, Henry Winkler, Ryan Murphy, and More

The Television Academy has officially revealed the Hall of Fame Class of 2025, honoring six distinguished industry legends who have made significant contributions to television. The induction ceremony will take place during the Televerse Festival at the JW Marriott in downtown Los Angeles on August 16, 2025.
The 27th Hall of Fame class includes acclaimed actors Viola Davis and Henry Winkler, the late live-event producer Don Mischer, celebrated series creator and writer Ryan Murphy, Emmy-winning talk show host and comedian Conan O’Brien, and legendary composer Mike Post. Each inductee has earned multiple Emmy Awards throughout their career.
Cris Abrego, Chair of the Television Academy, praised the inductees for their groundbreaking work, saying, “These trailblazing performers, creators, and producers have left an indelible mark on our industry. Their exceptional contributions have shaped and elevated the television landscape in profound ways.”
The Hall of Fame honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the arts, sciences, or management of television over their lifetime or through singular achievements. Since its inception in 1984, more than 150 influential figures have been enshrined.
Rick Rosen, Chair of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, added, “All six honorees have elevated the art of storytelling and made a lasting impact on television culture and history. Their leadership and innovation have transformed the medium, and we are proud to celebrate their legacy.”
Viola Davis
Viola Davis is a critically acclaimed actress, activist, producer, and EGOT winner. She was the first Black actress to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for How to Get Away with Murder. Davis was named one of Time 100’s most influential people in 2017 and received the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2025 for her remarkable contributions to entertainment. She is also actively involved in social justice and childhood hunger eradication programs.
Don Mischer
Don Mischer, honored posthumously, was a renowned producer and director of major live television events. His credits include the Emmy Awards, the Olympic Games ceremonies, and the historic 9/11 Memorial Services. Mischer received 15 Emmy Awards and multiple prestigious industry honors throughout his career before passing away in April 2025.

Ryan Murphy
