FX has picked up the new workplace comedy pilot Movers, created and executive produced by Robert Ben Garant and Cathy Shim. Garant co-created Comedy Central’s popular mockumentary Reno 911!, in which Shim also starred. The pilot’s executive producers include Stacey Sher, Peter Principato, and Jonny Shipes (known for BMF: The Rise and Fall of a Hip-Hop Drug Empire).
Garant and Shim will star alongside Maz Jobrani (Friday After Next), Darius Homayoun (Sex/Life), Tanael “TJ” Joachim, Manny Montana (Ironheart), and WWE superstar Becky Lynch (Rebecca Quin).
Movers is an improvised workplace comedy that follows the erratic and codependent lives of a crew of movers.
Garant’s notable works include co-producing the TruTV pilot Seoul Hunters, directing and starring in the Emmy-nominated special Reno 911! The Hunt For QAnon, and creating the Comedy Central pilot Chasers. He also wrote films like Spooky Jack for DreamWorks Animation and The Veil and Jessabelle for Blumhouse. Garant rose to fame through the Emmy-nominated Reno 911! series and co-created several films including the Night at the Museum franchise, The Pacifier, and Reno 911!: Miami.
Shim is a Korean-American actress, writer, and producer with credits including Anderson .Paak’s directorial debut K-Pops! (TIFF 2024), Comedy Central’s The Fake News, and multiple appearances in Reno 911! and related projects. She is represented by Global Artists Agency.

Darius Homayoun’s credits include Netflix’s Sex/Life, HBO’s Succession, and Apple TV+’s Tehran. Haitian-born comedian TJ Joachim is a regular at top NYC comedy clubs and has appeared at major festivals including Netflix Is A Joke and SF Sketchfest. Manny Montana stars in Marvel’s Disney+ series Ironheart and is known for roles in Good Girls and Mayans M.C.
