ABC Expands Cast for Upcoming Series “9-1-1: Nashville”

The highly anticipated ABC and 20th Television drama 9-1-1: Nashville has added four new names to its regular cast lineup: Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVey. These additions join the previously announced stars Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, solidifying the ensemble for the latest extension of the acclaimed 9-1-1 franchise.

A New Chapter in the 9-1-1 Franchise

9-1-1: Nashville continues the franchise’s tradition of highlighting first responders, blending high-stakes action with character-driven storytelling. Set in Nashville, the series promises a mix of intense emergency scenarios and interwoven personal dramas, all set against a backdrop of music, power, and cultural diversity. The show received a straight-to-series order from ABC in February and joins the original 9-1-1, which moved to the network from FOX in 2023. Meanwhile, 9-1-1: Lone Star concluded its five-season run earlier this year.

Cast and Character Details

  • Hailey Kilgore will portray Taylor, a firefighter with an extraordinary singing talent.

  • Michael Provost will appear as Ryan, a modern-day cowboy and fellow firefighter.

  • Juani Feliz will play Roxie, a thrill-seeking former trauma surgeon.

  • Hunter McVey, making his professional acting debut, takes on the role of Blue, a troubled firefighter with a mysterious past.

The casting of Kilgore and Rimes reflects the show’s strategic integration of musical elements, leveraging both actors’ real-life vocal talents to enrich the series’ Nashville setting. While Kimberly Williams-Paisley is not a professional singer, her musical involvement in past projects and marriage to country music star Brad Paisley adds further relevance to the show’s potential music-infused narrative.

Production Team and Creative Leadership

The series is being developed by 20th Television in collaboration with Ryan Murphy Television. Executive producers and writers include Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani, with Raisani also serving as showrunner. Additional executive producers include Chris O’Donnell, Brad Falchuk, Brad Buecker, and Angela Bassett.

Cast Backgrounds and Industry Presence

  • Hailey Kilgore is known for her breakout role as Jukebox in Power Book III: Raising Kanan. She is a Tony and Grammy-nominated performer and will release her debut music album later this year.

  • Michael Provost has appeared in Kevin Costner’s An American Saga – Chapter 2 and The Holdovers by Alexander Payne.

  • Juani Feliz has built an extensive portfolio with roles in Harlem, Fleishman Is In Trouble, and DMZ, as well as procedural dramas like The Rookie: Feds and Blue Bloods.

  • Hunter McVey is entering the industry with 9-1-1: Nashville as his first major credit.

Strategic Expansion and Fan Expectations

9-1-1: Nashville represents ABC’s continued investment in the successful 9-1-1 brand. With a combination of emergency drama, musical subtext, and family sagas, the series is poised to attract both longtime fans of the franchise and new viewers seeking compelling storytelling rooted in contemporary heroism.
