Premiering at the prestigious Annecy International Festival of Animation, Fixed is Netflix’s latest plunge into adult animation — and it’s certainly not for the faint of heart. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack), this offbeat and outrageous feature follows Bull, a dog on a mission to save his manhood from an impending neutering procedure.
With an animation style that intentionally mimics classic 2D Saturday morning cartoons, Fixed embraces its raunchy tone from the very first scene. Bull (voiced by Adam Devine) is introduced mid-leg-hump, moaning in delight and introducing viewers to his prized possessions: his testicles, which he lovingly calls Old Spice and Napoleon.

Fixed fits right in with edgy animated classics like Sausage Party (2016) or Fritz the Cat (1972), pushing boundaries of what animated storytelling can do. But unlike some R-rated animation that relies on shock value alone, this film finds its emotional stride in its third act, offering a surprisingly heartfelt (and satisfying) conclusion.
