Silent Night, Deadly Night Reboot and Return to Silent Hill Set for Theatrical Release in 2025-2026

EXCLUSIVE: The horror genre is gearing up for two major theatrical releases as Cineverse, Bloody Disgusting, and Iconic Events Releasing team up to bring back two iconic franchises: the Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot and the highly anticipated Return to Silent Hill.

Silent Night, Deadly Night Reboot

The cult slasher character Billy Chapman returns to cinemas on December 12, 2025, in a new Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot. Written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (known for Wrong Turn), the film stars Rohan Campbell as Billy and Ruby Modine as Pamela. The cast also includes Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson. Notably, the movie will receive an unrated, wide theatrical release through Iconic Events.

This reboot is produced by veterans tied to the original 1984 Silent Night, Deadly Night, including Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, along with producers Jamie R. Thompson, Erik Bernard, and Jeremy Torrie. The film’s financing comes from Bondit Media Capital and the Royal Bank of Canada, while Sixth Dimension and StudioCanal will handle international distribution.

The original film sparked controversy for its depiction of a murderous rampage by a man dressed as Santa Claus, prompting parents to demand its removal from theaters. This new iteration aims to revive the intense, chilling spirit of the original while reaching a new generation of horror fans.

Return to Silent Hill

Following closely behind, the third installment in the Silent Hill film franchise, Return to Silent Hill, is slated for release on January 23, 2026. The film is a psychological horror thriller based on the beloved Konami video game series and stars Jeremy Irvine and Hannah Emily Anderson.

Returning to the franchise are director and co-writer Christophe Gans and original game composer Akira Yamaoka, ensuring continuity in style and tone. The movie tells the story of James (Irvine), a man haunted by his past, who returns to a transformed Silent Hill after receiving a mysterious letter from his lost love, Mary (Anderson). As he searches the eerie town, he encounters terrifying creatures and uncovers dark secrets.

Produced by Victor Hadida (Davis Films), Molly Hassell (Hassell Free Productions), and David Wulf, the film benefits from financing by Davis Films and Ashland Hill Media Finance. The Veterans will manage international rights.

This release follows the success of the recent Silent Hill 2 game remake, adding momentum and excitement around the franchise’s 20th film anniversary.
