Ted Lasso Season 4: New Cast, Women’s Team Focus & Return of Fan Favorites

Filming has officially begun on the highly anticipated Season 4 of Apple TV+’s hit comedy series Ted Lasso, which is co-created, executive produced, and stars Jason Sudeikis, and produced by Warner Bros. TV. Original cast members Juno Temple and Brendan Hunt have finalized deals to return, joining Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift, all of whom had their contracts extended last August — signaling the show’s long-awaited comeback.
In a notable recasting move, Grant Feely, known for his portrayal of young Luke Skywalker in Obi-Wan Kenobi, takes on the role of Ted’s son, Henry. The character will appear frequently with potential to become a series regular in future seasons. New series regulars include Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education), Jude Mack, Faye Marsay (Adolescence), Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane). Several are expected to play on the newly introduced AFC Richmond women’s soccer team, central to the upcoming storyline. As with previous seasons, Sudeikis is rumored to envision a three-season arc.
According to the official logline for Season 4, Ted returns to Richmond to face his most ambitious challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. The season promises growth as Ted and his team learn to take risks, often leaping before they look — embracing unexpected opportunities.
Filming began in Kansas City, Sudeikis’ hometown, tying directly to the conclusion of Season 3 where Ted returned home. Afterward, production will resume in London.
Season 4 reunites six original cast members, including Emmy winners Sudeikis, Waddingham, and Goldstein, along with Temple, Hunt, and Swift — all key figures in AFC Richmond’s coaching staff. Conversations are ongoing to bring back Phil Dunster (Jamie Tartt) and Cristo Fernández (Danny Rojas) as guest stars.
Juno Temple’s return as Keeley took time to finalize due to scheduling conflicts with her lead role in Apple TV+’s The Husbands. Meanwhile, Brendan Hunt, also a writer and executive producer, was already deep in the writers’ room and always intended to return as Coach Beard.

The recasting of Henry Lasso was driven by the need for a more soccer-proficient actor, as the character is now 12 and an emerging soccer player. Gus Turner, who played Henry in earlier seasons, was replaced after an extensive casting search led to Feely’s selection.
Behind the scenes, comedy veteran Jack Burditt joins as executive producer under an exclusive deal with Apple TV+. The production team includes Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, Bill Wrubel, Leanne Bowen, Sarah Walker, Phoebe Walsh, Sasha Garron, Julia Lindon, and Dylan Marron — many of whom are Ted Lasso veterans.
Bill Lawrence, via Doozer Productions, executive produces alongside Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of NBCUniversal Content. Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Doozer also serve as executive producers. The show was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Kelly, and Hunt, based on preexisting characters from NBC Sports.
Over its first three seasons, Ted Lasso became a massive ratings success and a pop culture icon, earning critical acclaim and multiple Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series for two consecutive years.
