Paradigm’s The Sports Group Launches Book-to-Film Slate with WWE Stars CJ Perry and Blake Northcott’s Thriller Bulletproof Angel

Paradigm’s The Sports Group has unveiled an exciting new book-to-film initiative that pairs athletes with bestselling authors to create compelling original stories designed for cross-platform adaptation. Leading the charge is a collaboration between actress, writer, producer, and former WWE superstar CJ Perry (aka Lana) and bestselling author and screenwriter Blake Northcott on the high-octane international spy thriller, Bulletproof Angel.

Bulletproof Angel follows a brilliant young CIA agent and her estranged mother, a retired operative with a haunting past, as they join forces behind enemy lines to stop a deadly AI-powered weapon that threatens global catastrophe. The novel combines fast-paced espionage, explosive action, and deep emotional stakes, highlighting two powerful female operatives at its core.

CJ Perry shared her passion for espionage and strong female characters: “I’ve always been drawn to stories of espionage, betrayal, and resilience, and building a world around two powerful female operatives was a dream. Blake is an incredible partner, and Bulletproof Angel is just the beginning.”

Blake Northcott, a prolific author with over 50 novels and comics, praised Perry’s storytelling skills: “CJ has a sharp creative instinct and a cinematic sense of story. She’s a true storyteller. This book is a fast-paced, emotional ride with explosive action and a core that’s all heart.”

Paradigm’s agent Ian Kleinert brokered the deal, with media rights overseen by Richie Kern and Sports Group head Nick LoPiccolo. The Sports Group is developing additional fiction titles co-authored with Paradigm clients including WWE superstars Damian Priest and Sheamus.

Kleinert noted the unique advantage WWE talent brings to storytelling: “WWE talent are natural storytellers with massive global platforms, which makes them incredibly appealing to top-tier authors and publishers. This collaboration is about building intellectual property (IP) with real cross-platform potential.”

Perry, recently re-signed with WWE under a Legends deal, currently stars in the action comedy Guns Up, alongside her husband WWE’s Rusev (Miro Barnyashev) and Kevin James.

Bulletproof Angel joins a growing publishing slate that includes Summer Skate, the debut novel by former NHL enforcer Sean Avery, and The Last Hart Beating, the memoir of WWE superstar Natalya Neidhart, set for release in October. Both projects reflect Paradigm’s strategy of launching client-driven stories across genres like thriller, romance, and memoir.
